INNOVATION ACCELERATOR

Organizations that thrive in the future will have cultures of innovation, with the tools, habits, and mindsets to keep that creative fire burning. Unfortunately, school and society have conditioned us out of our natural creative mindsets, and generally our ways of working together reinforce this limitation. Our dormant creativity is there, but we need to hack our default ways of interacting and of approaching challenges to bring it forward.

The Innovation Accelerator is an intensive, hands-on bootcamp for unleashing creative potential (half-day to 3 day). Participants will utilize Meaning Centered Design as a lens for identifying untapped opportunity, uncovering valuable insights, and designing and testing innovative solutions that leverage that insight. They will experience and understand the conditions necessary for high performance teams to hack default ways of approaching problems and each other, and to collectively leverage other ways of knowing. And they will move the needle on important institutional challenges.

IN AND OUT OF THE BOX

As creativity becomes a core competency necessary at all levels of the organization, it is important that we not just tell people to think out of the box, but show them how to do so.

In this program, participants take the phrase, “Think out of the box,” literally, using a physical box to represent the boundaries and barriers to their thinking. Understanding our Box improves team dynamics and creativity, and helps us as individuals identify and reduce stress that interferes with productivity.

The Box program brings profound insight into the role the boundaries of our thinking (our box) plays in our success and happiness, the methodologies for thinking beyond those boundaries, and the importance of not just thinking out of the box, but thinking back into a better box.

ALIGNMENT AUDIT

The foundation of any healthy organization sits on alignment of vision, mission, values, and practices. Does everyone agree on where you are heading? On the best road to get there? On the best vehicle to take on that road?

Our Alignment Audit is a two day workshop during which these questions are answered visually and viscerally. Participants are guided through a co-creative experience built on the principles of meaning-centered design. Powerful tools are used to tap into other ways of knowing, hack default tendencies, and shed powerful light on individual and collective understandings.

Organizations having engaged in the Alignment Audit leave armed with x-ray clarity on the integrity of their core foundation. Strong alignment positions an organization to move into high integrity strategic planning with increased clarity and buy-in. If weak alignment is revealed, it will be clear where and why. Focused interventions can then follow to forge authentic alignment. In both cases, new co-creative habits and tools will leave increased organizational capacity for continual calibration of goals, strategy, and practice.

RESHAPING SCHOOL

If we are going to move from the dominant paradigm of schools: “Do what I tell you or else” to “What are your goals, and how can I help?” —the definition of a co-creative shift—we need to re-evaluate the relationships of teacher to student, student to learning, and school to community.

This day-long Launchpad for school communities is a transformative experience, a launchpad for  moving from command-and-control to co-creation. Together, we examine the fundamental beliefs and structures that perpetuate command-and-control learning, re-connect to the values and outcomes we want for ourselves and our communities, and explore practices and structures in alignment with our visions. Leadership, learning principles, educative structures—all are re-visited to find the throughline of co-creative, re-humanized learning.

School communities will leave with clarity on key leverage points to get the changes they want, and the beginnings of a roadmap to get there. Just as importantly, they will leave with co-creative tools to continue the journey.
